Unforgiveness; The Prison That Forgiveness Unlocks: Words Of Wisdom With Pastor Meso Dickson

post-title

Bible verse: For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15

Life Point:

Unforgiveness is one of Satan’s most effective weapons against believers. It begins with a wound but, if left unresolved, grows into bitterness, resentment, anger, and spiritual bondage. Many people pray, fast, and seek God’s blessings while secretly holding unforgiveness in their hearts. God desires us to forgive because He has first forgiven us.

Unforgiveness  Imprisons the Heart.  When we refuse to forgive, we do not imprison the offender, we imprison ourselves. Bitterness steals our peace, joy, and fellowship with

Bitterness is like poison we drink while expecting someone else to die.

Unforgiveness Blocks Our Relationship with God.

Jesus made it clear that forgiveness is not optional for His followers. A heart that refuses to forgive cannot fully enjoy God’s forgiveness.  The scripture says in Mark 11:25  And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.

Forgiveness opens the door for unhindered fellowship with God. Forgiveness Reflects the Character of Christ.  Jesus forgave those who crucified Him even while He was hanging on the cross.  He said  Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.

If Christ could forgive His executioners, He empowers us through the Holy Spirit to forgive those who have wronged us.

Forgiveness Brings Freedom.  Forgiveness does not mean that what happened was acceptable. It means choosing to release the offender into God’s hands and refusing to carry the burden any longer. When we forgive, we are set free from the chains of resentment.

Leave Justice to God. God never asks us to deny injustice. He asks us to trust Him with it.  Beloved, do not avenge yourselves for it is written, ‘Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord. Romans 12:19.

Forgiveness is surrendering the right to revenge and trusting God’s perfect justice.

Child of God ! Unforgiveness is a heavy burden that God never intended us to carry. It robs us of peace, hinders our prayers, and keeps us from experiencing the fullness of God’s grace. Forgiveness is not a feeling; it is an act of obedience and faith.  As we remember the immeasurable forgiveness we have received through Christ, we are empowered to forgive others.

Glory be to Jesus Christ our  Lord and Savior!

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for forgiving my sins through Jesus Christ. Today I choose to release every person who has hurt me. Remove every root of bitterness, anger, resentment, and hatred from my heart.

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
