But Samuel replied, ‘Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.’” 1 Samuel 15:22
Life Point:
Many of God’s children miss their place of dominion and fulfillment because they substitute what God truly requires with what they think He wants.
When faced with a call to obedience, it is dangerous to say, “I think this” or “I prefer that.” Instead, we must ask, “Lord, what would You have me do?” and then do it completely.
If Jesus is not Lord of all, then He is not truly Lord at all. He may be our Savior, but not our Master. True obedience is never partial; it must be complete. Anything less is disobedience.
God’s Word makes it clear that rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry. Why? Because when we exalt our own opinions above God’s commands, we idolize our own ideas.
Saul disobeyed and lost his throne. How many today think they are serving God while, in truth, offering Him what He has not asked for? Such people often live unfulfilled lives, blaming God for what their own disobedience caused.
Beloved, God requires prompt and complete obedience. Nothing less is acceptable. Even when His instructions seem difficult, His grace is always sufficient. We only need a willing heart.
Child of God, let the Lord take His rightful place in your life first place in everything!
Hallelujah to the Lamb of God! Amen.
Prayer:
Lord, give me an obedient heart and a humble spirit to love and serve You faithfully. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.Life Point: Many of God’s children miss their place of dominion and fulfillment because they substitute what God truly requires with what they think He wants.
